In Kazan, car owners have started to receive fines for littering in inappropriate places
Thirty cases have been submitted for consideration
Fines have been issued to citizens in Kazan who do not throw their garbage in the containers, but instead leave it in the surrounding areas. These violations are recorded by a software and hardware system using artificial intelligence. This automatic system operates in pilot mode.
The issue of littering at container sites becomes particularly relevant in spring, when active cleaning of the sites begins in villages. Sometimes, citizens fail to reach the containers and throw bags of garbage directly on the site. This leads to the area becoming cluttered, hindering other residents and creating problems for garbage trucks, which cannot access the containers.
Installed video surveillance cameras record incidents, the license plate number of the vehicle is identified, and a fine of 2,000 rubles is issued to the owner. To date, the Office for Organizing the Activities of Administrative Commissions has received the first 30 cases, of which five have already been processed.
For reference, since 2024, artificial intelligence has helped monitor compliance with landscaping regulations – the city has round-the-clock monitoring of heavy trucks carrying bulk and construction materials without a cover.
