The festival of self-employed in Kazan realized a two-week turnover of products in two days

40 new self-employed were registered and more than 80 citizens received advice on starting their own business.

(KZN.RU, August 12, Ksenia Shvetsova). The festival of self-employed took place last weekend in Kazan on the territory of the Gorkinsko-Ometievsky forest. More than seven thousand people attended it. 176 self-employed entrepreneurs presented their creative projects in the field of catering, services, and entertainment to the citizens and realized a two-week turnover of products in two days. Artur Valiakhmetov, the chairman of the Committee for Economic Development, announced it today at the Business Monday.

The festival was held for two days. Several thematic zones were organized for the participants and guests of the event. One of the main platforms was an educational lecture hall, where visitors learned how to find an idea for a business, how to attract investment, what SMM and a trademark are needed. A market with a separate area for selling farm products, a food court, and a children area was also organized for guests. Young visitors were entertained by fun quests, creative contests, and a master class on children's time management.

“Each visitor was able to find gifts for himself and his loved ones among a large assortment of original things”, noted A. Valiakhmetov. “Handicrafts, accessories, jewelry, books, postcards, posters, clothes, dishes, and much more were presented to festival guests”.

Everyone could get advice from specialists from different fields: lawyers, pension insurance consultants, and even psychologists. And the specialists of the Support Center for Self-Employed helped the festival participants sort out questions about the tax regime and register as a self-employed. During the festival, 40 new self-employed were registered and more than 80 citizens received a competent advice on starting a business.

“The festival was created as a tool for providing the self-employed with an open sales channel for their products in the public spaces of the city”, said A. Valiakhmetov. “This successful experience is planned to be applied in other parks and squares of the city and to hold similar events on an ongoing basis”.

In two days, the self-employed sold a two-week amount of products, which indicates the effectiveness of this form of support, said Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan. “We are only looking for forms of work with the self-employed. This is a new category of entrepreneurs, which has only recently received its status”, said the Mayor. “Fairs in parks and squares are good, but this is not the only form of support. I ask to find new forms of support in a constant dialogue with entrepreneurs so that their business develops. We are on the right path, but we need to continue the work”.

Today, about 22 thousand self-employed registered in Tatarstan, of which seven thousand are from Kazan.
