R.Minnikhanov: “Small and medium-sized businesses are being strongly supported in Kazan”

The measures to support entrepreneurs, introduced in the capital of Tatarstan last year, have been extended to 2022.

Despite the pandemic, the number of small and medium-sized enterprises has grown by more than 3.8 thousand over the past year in Kazan. This was announced today by the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin at the XII Session of the Kazan City Duma at the City Hall.

Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized that the capital of the republic provides strong support to small and medium-sized businesses. “Small and medium-sized businesses are being strongly supported in Kazan. If the share of small and medium-sized businesses in the gross regional product of Tatarstan is 35.5%, then in Kazan the share of SMEs in the gross territorial product is almost 40%”, - Tatarstan President noted.

A number of measures have become a powerful support for representatives of small and medium-sized businesses. These include a moratorium on fines for violations of the Rules of landscaping, preferential operation of parking lots, deferred payments for the installation of advertising structures and others. “These measures have helped to revitalize business, therefore, at the request of entrepreneurs, they have been extended for 2022”, - Ilsur Metshin said.

In 2021, the number of small and medium-sized enterprises in the capital of Tatarstan increased by more than 3.8 thousand. The number of self-employed has also increased from 32.6 to almost 58 thousand people.
