Ilsur Metshin was re-elected as the Mayor of Kazan

Today, at the first session of the Kazan City Duma of the fifth convocation, which is taking place in the City Hall, Ilsur Metshin was elected as the head of the Kazan municipality and Mayor of the capital city of Tatarstan. For the first time, the candidates were pre-selected by a commission, and the final list of applicants was approved by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov. This list included Roza Gainutdinova, a member of the New People party, and Alexander Komisarov, a member of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation. Ilsur Metshin was nominated by the All-Russia United Russia party for the position of head of Kazan municipality and Mayor of the city. The deputies participated in a secret vote. Ilsur Metshin was supported by 41 deputies. One vote was given for a candidate from the New People party, and 4 deputies voted for Alexander Komisarov. The deputies approved the draft decision to elect the Head of Kazan municipality. Following this, the inauguration ceremony for the newly elected mayor of the city was held. Ilsur Metshin took an oath as the Mayor of Kazan and received the official badge of the office from Asgat Safarov, head of the Administration of the Rais of Tatarstan. He congratulated Ilsur Metshin on behalf of the Rais of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and also on his own behalf.
