In Kazan, 30 new NEFAZ buses with Euro-5 class engines entered the city routes
Thirty new gas-powered buses entered the routes 33, 35, 35a, 53, 63. They were purchased to replace the old vehicles that were in operation for 12 years. The new buses are equipped with Euro-5 engines, and are designed to be more environmentally friendly and comfortable for passengers. Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, inspected the new buses and asked the opinion of their drivers.
“The development of public transportation is a crucial aspect of urban planning. Last year, with the support the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan, we replaced 127 buses that were more than 10 years old. This makes us proud to have some of the latest rolling stock, including buses and trolleybuses, in our city,”-said the Mayor.
These new buses are designed to be comfortable and safe for all passengers, especially passengers with reduced mobility.
“Comfort is very important in public transportation - air conditioning and comfortable seats. It’s good that you continue to work on improving not only environmental friendliness but also comfort. I remember the first buses, there is a huge difference,”- said Ilsur Metshin.
New buses will operate on the following routes: № 33 (Farm-2 Residential Area - Leningradskaya Street), №35 (Gavrilova Street), №35a (Ploshchad Tukaya Metro Station), №53 (Rechnoy Port - Leningradskaya), and №63 (Yashlek Metro Station - Industrial Base).
For reference, public transportation in Kazan transported 226.3 million passengers last year.
