<p> In 2024, the main trend in the labor market is a record low unemployment rate of 0.18%, which is 1.5 times lower than in 2023. Despite an increasing number of applicants, there are not enough staff available. Currently, there are nearly 14,000 job vacancies in Kazan, with almost 11 vacancies per unemployed person. Manufacturing, construction, retail, transportation and logistics are the leading sectors for job offers. This was reported at the Business Monday meeting by Timur Mullin, director of the State Employment Center of the Republic of Tatarstan. </p> <div> «For a long time, we lived under the free market system, believing that it would regulate everything. As a result, we have a ruined professional education and an overabundance of unemployed specialists, such as accountants, lawyers, and other. Today, we are working on fixing these mistakes, including through the «Working staff» national project», – said Mayor Ilsur Metshin. <p> New realities require adaptation and the implementation of new approaches to staff recruitment and development. Timur Mullin reported that almost 8,000 citizens applied to employment centers in Kazan last year. Of these, over 4,600 were employed. The highest employment rates were recorded in sectors such as services, education and science, sales, manufacturing, transport, banking, insurance, real estate, medicine, hospitality, and catering. The unemployment rate for citizens has increased to 60%, while the time to find a suitable job has been reduced from four to three months. It is also worth noting that in 2024 the average salary for advertised positions in Kazan increased by 21%, reaching 72,000 rubles. </p> <p> According to forecasts, trends in the labor market will shape the growth of the economy and the cost of government defense orders. In Kazan, engineers, developers, technical specialists, and skilled workers are in high demand. This trend is expected to continue for the upcoming five years. </p> </div>
