<p> This week has turned out to be abnormally snowy for Kazan – a third of the monthly precipitation rate has fallen in the city. Over the past day, over 15,000 tons of snow have been removed from the streets of the city. Since January 29, eight snow melting points of the city have received 20,940 tons of snow. The snowfall will continue in the next three days. In this regard, the city services will continue to work on a round-the-clock mode. This afternoon, 505 vehicles and 578 road workers were involved in snow cleaning. </p> <p> Since the beginning of the winter season, 495 thousand tons of snow have been removed from the streets of the city, and 39,700 deicing materials have been used to maintain the safety of the road network. </p> <p> «Over the past day, a third of the monthly precipitation rate has fallen. This is an abnormal snowfall for us. We have used all the reserves that we have. About 1,000 vehicles and 684 road workers were involved in the snow cleaning. About 15,500 tons of snow were removed. During this winter season, 500 thousand tons of snow have been removed from the roads. Our road services work smoothly both during the day and at night. The snow continues – we also continue to work, we are mobilizing all the forces that we have», – said Albert Shainurov, Head of the Land Improvement Committee of Kazan. </p> <p> He noted that most of the work is carried out in the evening and at night, when the traffic is low. During the day, the focus is on clearing the roadway. At night, the road services continue to disperse the snow, after which transportation to snow melting points begins. </p> <p> «First, we are clearing the main highways so that the roads can be cleared for movement. Priority work is being carried out where public transport runs. Then we switch to roads of the second category, inner-city driveways. Of course, we also focus on sidewalks», – Albert Shainurov noted. </p>
