To complete the Our Yard program, another 301 yards need to be renovated
In Kazan, the yards of 420 residential houses with 100,000 inhabitants will be renovated this year under the Our Yard program. The area of the landscaped yards will be more than 550,000 square meters. Albert Shainurov, Head of the Land Improvement Committee, announced this to the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin.
New sidewalks are laid or existing sidewalks are being repaired, benches and bins, lighting poles, sports and children's equipment are being installed, and waste collection sites are being improvement. Parking spaces are being set up in dialogue with residents.
In 2025, as many as 466 yards were landscaped on an area of 600,000 square meters.
«The Our Yard program of the Rais of Tatarstan has given a powerful boost to improving the urban environment. A landscaped, comfortable yard is not just a picture, it is an important factor for every person that affects the perception of life. We constantly see how empty yards are instantly filled with life after landscaping. They also attract people from neighboring yards, which have not been improved yet. However, there are fewer and fewer of them. After the work completed this year, there will be only 300 yards awaiting landscaping. This is a tiny amount compared to more than 3,000 landscaped yards. Nevertheless, they must also be improved for the completeness of the result. Then we will have the right to say that Kazan is a city where all the yards are improved», – said the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin.
The “Our Yard” program of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan was launched in 2020. Over the past six years, 2,754 yards have been landscaped in Kazan where almost 600 thousand people live. Since the start of the program, the improvement took place at 79% of the yards in need of repair. Taking into account this year, the completion rate will be 91%. As of 2027, 301 Kazan yards will require improvement.
