This will be the first meeting of the chief architects from the cities of BRICS+ countries
The Kazanysh International Architectural and Construction Forum will take place on 5-7 December at the new building of the Kamal Theatre. About 7,000 people will participate, including mayors, chief architects and experts from Russia, China, Brazil, India, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Iran, Egypt and Ethiopia – a total of 20 countries. The program includes 115 events.
«No doubt, the Kazanysh Forum reflects the aspirations of our city. They are: gather the best, search for, find, and implement. We aim to educate our professionals and make it as easy as possible for them to acquire the best knowledge and experience. It is an architectural masterpiece. Thanks to the Rais of our republic, who was among the first to respond to the proposal to hold such a large-scale event», – Ilsur Metshin said.
«Kazanysh will gain a new dimension through our decision to create the BRICS+ Association of Cities and Municipalities. This is the practical focus of our efforts, which brings together colleagues from around the world wherever we extend the call», – the Mayor added.
Of the 300 speakers, 60 are international experts. The forum will host a meeting and introduction of architecture and urban planning specialists from member states in a roundtable format.
«What brings together architects for three days in one place? It's an opportunity for urban planners and developers to learn the best practices, get acquainted with new trends in architecture, communicate with those representing a particular architectural school, and explore collaborations with those already working with us. It allows us to look ahead and not stand still. It's important. That's why it's good that we can discuss specific matters with so many participants: one mind is good, but seven thousand minds are better», – the Mayor said.
A new feature of this forum will be the formation of eight separate strategic sessions dedicated to architectural policy and trends in the BRICS countries.
On December 5, they will talk about the influence of cultural institutions on the development of creative thinking and character. Tatiana Polidi, Vice-President of the Institute of Urban Economics Foundation, will summarize international experience and domestic developments. Architects, lawyers, and economists from Tbilisi, Moscow, and London will discuss the architecture and economics of modern hospitality.
The second day will be dedicated to the development of cities on water, environment, bioclimatic architecture, and technological innovations in this area.
On December 7, participants will focus on the human-centered environment. Experts will share their experiences and discuss close cooperation with NGO Good Kazan.
Registration is free for the event, which is organized by Kazan Development Institute.
