The Mayor of Kazan noted that over 70% of the city’s budget in 2018 was directed to social needs.
(KZN.RU, February 26). The budget of Kazan remains socially oriented. 71% of expenditures are spent on education and branches of the socio-cultural sphere. Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of the Tatarstan’s capital, announced this today at the meeting of the reporting XXXII session of the Kazan City Duma in the City Hall. As part of the report on his activities in 2018, he spoke about the formation and execution of the city budget for 2018.
The execution of the Kazan budget for 2018, with an approved volume of 21.6 billion rubles, amounted to 27.1 billion rubles. Additionally, the budget received about 5.5 billion rubles. The increase in the city’s own revenues amounted to more than 2 billion rubles. Another 3 billion 271 million rubles additionally went to the Kazan budget thanks to the help of the republic and Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the RT, said the Mayor.
He also added that thanks to the initiative of the Kazan City Duma deputies, 481 million rubles were additionally directed to the social needs of citizens. They include subsidized meals for schoolchildren, compensation for part of the parental fee to certain categories of citizens for visiting preschool children, paying extra to parents who adopted children in foster families. In addition, property tax exemptions were established for families with disabled children (more than 4.5 thousand people), and also support was provided to private kindergartens in the form of a reduced land tax rate.
“The requirements of the May decrees of the President of Russia to achieve the established level of wages for certain categories of education and culture workers are fully implemented”, the Mayor added.
