The new benches are made of polymer-sand composite
The renovation of worn-out architectural structures has been completed in Stolyarov Park in the Kirovsky city district. Old elements have been dismantled and 16 new trash cans and 14 new benches have been installed in their place. This allowed to make walking in the park more comfortable for residents and visitors of the district, according to the Land Improvement Committee.
The new small architectural structures are made from polymer-sand composite from recycled plastic waste. This outdoor furniture is environmentally friendly. Recycled furniture is more durable and anti-vandal. It is water-resistant, withstands temperature changes, and wind, so it maintains its appearance for several seasons. As design elements, these products can imitate wood or stone, fitting harmoniously into the natural landscape.
Plastic bottles, bags, cups, and film are all recycled to create eco-friendly furniture. After being crushed, the waste is mixed with high-quality sand and melted in an extruder. The mixture is then molded into shape under a press to create the furniture.
Small architectural structures made of recycled materials are being integrated into urban spaces. For example, recycling bins have been installed in Tinchurin Park, Uritsky Park, and Kaleidoscope Children's Park. In addition, separate waste collection bins and benches were installed in Gorkinsko-Ometyevsky Forest, sun beds have appeared on Lebyazhiye Lake. As part of a cooperation with Sibur, similar elements - 30 trash bins, 36 benches, and 10 sunbeds - have been installed in Pine Grove and Lenin Garden.
